The COVID Virus Pandemic and corresponding lockdowns are a scary real-life scenario playing out. Dealing with senior care needs in the middle of all this is a daunting and frustrating matter. Maybe we can help?

We are trying to stay updated on goings on at Assisted Living Communities and Board and Care Homes in San Diego County... mostly North County. Our industry partner relationships really pay off in times like this. In many cases we are getting daily updates from the various facilities. We are also keeping updated by in-home care service partners.

As you probably expected, all of these businesses are cautious about protecting existing clients. This means that introduction of visitors or other outside folks has been very limited. Even in-home services need to be careful about what new clients can be served until the risk is much lower.

THE GOOD NEWS

Good news is that an abundance of caution is being seen. Rest assured that state licensed communities, homes and services are proceeding carefully.

WE ARE GETTING SOME ENCOURAGING INVITES TO ALLOW NEW RESIDENTS INTO CERTAIN PROPERTIES. THE SAME CARE OPPORTUNITY EXISTS WITH SOME OF THE IN-HOME SERVICE PROVIDERS, TOO. All of this is handled on a case by case basis. As you might expect, there will be lots of questions about potential or actual exposure. Even with some potential exposure, a senior might be able to move in directly to a quarantined room for 14 days. Unfortunately, there would be limited visitations for a while.

Tours are handled differently at the various properties. You can expect lot's of initial virtual tours and communications via phone and Internet until there is a clear decision at hand.

Senior Living and Senior Care decisions involve a fair amount of education, planning and preparation.
